The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India's central recruiting agency. Recently UPSC has published an employment notification to hire the eligible candidates for the post 33 Divisional Medical Officer & Translator (Sinhalese) Vacancy. Post-Wise Eligibility Criteria:

1. Post Name: Divisional Medical Officer

No of Vacancy: 32 Posts

Pay Scale: Rs.15,600-39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 6600/-

Educational Qualification:

(i) A recognized Medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section 13 (3) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. 

ii) Post- Graduate Degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in schedule II or equivalent, i.e. MD (General)/MD (General Medicine)/MD (Medicine and Therapeutics)/MRCP/Speciality Board of Internal Medicine (USA). 

Experience: One year’s experience in the concerned specialty after obtaining the Post-graduate degree.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.

2. Post Name: Translator

No of Vacancy: 01 Post

Pay Scale:  Level 10 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Educational Qualification:
(i) Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned (SINHALESE) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level from a recognized University.
OR
Bachelor’s degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University and

(ii) Diploma in foreign language concerned (SINHALESE) with interpreter ship or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.


Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.


UPSC Selection Process: Selection will be based on Interview.

UPSC Application Fee: The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card. SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates who are exempted from payment of the fee.
